WATER COOLER TALK: Carol Thebarge, a New Hampshire substitute teacher, has been fired because she refused to “un-friend” students that she was friends with on Facebook.
Thebarge, who taught for more than 30 years in the school system, said a school administrator gave her an ultimatum to remove all students she was friends with on Facebook because a 29-year old fellow teacher, Christopher LeBlanc, was accused of sexually assaulting a student in a classroom.
Carol Thebarge said she was going to miss the positive relationships she has established with her students. She claims that they taught her stuff and vise versa.
