With the family of late singer Aaliyah refusing to participate in Lifetime’s upcoming (and authorized) Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B biopic, the film will feature none of her actual music as it chronicles her rise to fame to untimely death at age 22.

Starring Alexandra Shipp as the songstress, what the film will feature is her infamous love affair with fellow singer and early mentor R. Kelly. In a newly released sneak preview, watch below as Aaliyah struggles to reveal that she has gotten married without her parents consent.

Executive producer Wendy Williams explained “As promised you will see how she meets R. Kelly, what her father and mother’s reaction was to R. Kelly, when it ends with R. Kelly, how she moves on to Dame Dash. But what you won’t see if the plane crash. I just thought that was distasteful.”

While many have already criticized the project for failing to involve the family as well as the actors chosen to portray key figures including Missy Elliot and Timbaland, viewers will have to wait until it airs on November 15 to form their own opinion.

Better Record Than The CAVS

Rick Ross sounded off on the Cleveland Cavaliers in a recent interview, saying that there’s no way LeBron James and Co. finish with a better record than the Miami Heat this year.

The parole officer-turned-rapper continues to ride with his Heat after James’ departure, and judging by his comments during an interview with Hot 97 in Miami he’s confident the team will end the season with more wins than the Cavaliers.

“We most definitely finishing better than the Cavaliers. I’ll put 100 grand on that,” Ross said.

As for James going back to Cleveland, Ross says he wouldn’t go up there for any amount of money.

“I wouldn’t have did that for nothing,” Ross said. “For nothing.”

Ross also thinks the Heat will play better team basketball without James.

“I feel like we’ll be more balanced this year,” James said. “You know [James] is most definitely one of the greatest ever, if not the greatest…but he brings a lot of baggage, too.”

The 5-2 Heat are currently up on the Cavaliers, who are sitting at 3-3 after a sputtering start to the regular season. Miami’s success is largely due to the resurgent play of Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade.

Ball Don’t Lie’s Dan Devine reports that as of Wednesday afternoon, the Heat possesses the fourth-best offense in the league. The team is averaging 108.3 points per 100 possessions through seven games.

Assists are up, Dwyane Wade has the ball in his hands and Miami is thriving thus far, while the Cavaliers play passive-aggressive basketball and sharpen their mustaches.

So if you’ve got $100,000 sitting on deck and are feeling high on the Cavaliers, Ross has a proposition waiting to be matched. Put your money where his mouth is, and prepare for it to be inhaled.

Looks like Jeopardy! has some of the Beyhive working behind the scenes. On last night’s episode of the trivia show, Beyoncé  had her own category for contestants to choose from. The competing champions answered questions about “Drunk in Love,” Blue Ivy, “Single Ladies” and her role in the movie Cadillac Records.  The three competitors didn’t stumble over the questions, but one contestant mistakenly answered one question with “Drunk on Love,” which cost him $1,000. Watch the clip below and see if you too can breeze through these questions.
