A listener wrote into Dime’s Diary expressing their thoughts on the death of Harambe, 17-Year Old Gorilla at the Cincinnati Zoo. Check out their thoughts and stand on what happen to see if you agree.

Hey Dimepiece,

As soon as heard about the killing of Harambe, the gorilla at the Zoo here in the city I had to write in and share my thoughts.  Hoping you share this on the air because unfortunately, Harambe did not have a voice.  My thing is, how did the boy find his way to the place where the gorilla was and get inside?  This could only have happened if the parents weren’t watching the child.  Not only could it have been prevented of the child possibly getting hurt but Harambe the gorilla who may I add is of an endangered species would still be living.

Of course I am glad that the child is alive and well but all of this could have been prevented if there were better parent supervision.  Am I wrong for feeling this way?  That gorilla had no reason to die.  Didn’t he just have his 17th birthday?  Thanks for taking the time to read.  I had to vent and knew I could come here.  Looking forward to hearing what others have to say.  Thanks Dime.
