So I was on vacation in Dallas for my cousin’s wedding, and since I’m dedicated to this Tinder Tales experiment, I was still looking for dates. This is gonna sound crazy, but I found a guy who was in Dallas on vacation, and lives in Cleveland. I got to Dallas the day after the protest, when those police officers lost their lives. So I was downtown helping with the efforts, and met him at a restaurant.
He graduated from Cleveland State University and worked at a corporate branch of a bank. His living in Cleveland didn’t really bother me; it’s 2 hours away, and I make the trip often anyway. When I tell you every ounce of him smelled like grown man….honey. His slacks fit him perfectly, he had on nice shoes, and his blazer was everything (even though it was like, 94 degrees and I thought he was crazy).
Conversation was bomb. I honestly couldn’t believe things were going so well. I was waiting for something to go wrong, but it never did. So we exchanged phone numbers (and he has a 216 number, so you know it’s real lol) and we talked the entire time I was on vacation. I even told my favorite cousin that I thought I met this great guy.
He went back to Cleveland before I got back to Columbus, and on his last day in Dallas, he took me out to a nice dinner, and didn’t look at his phone once! I didn’t want to be negative, but this was really seeming too good to be true. But nothing ever went wrong!
I got on the plane, and got back to Columbus yesterday. So I texted New Guy to ask when we could see each other again….and that’s when it all went left.
The text I got back said “did you know that (New Guy) has a girlfriend?” I’m looking at the phone perplexed, and I text back “wait…..huh??” The next text is a picture of New Guy and his girlfriend. Welp, nothing left to do but be an adult and keep it real with her. “Listen, I had no idea. I don’t mess up relationships, so you never have to worry about me again.”
All I could do was laugh for real. Then I thought for a second, and realized the reason he never pulled his phone out on our dates, was so he wouldn’t be bothered by his girlfriend. LOL.
Welp. On to day 15…this is getting frustrating.
