A husband and wife are behind bars, charged with hiding the body of a person who overdosed on drugs in their basement for nearly a month. Investigators have charged Andrew and Angela Nichols of Harrisburg with tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse.
The landlord discovered the body in the basement Monday evening wrapped in garbage bags and duct tape. The Nichols were questioned by investigators and admitted to hiding the body. Andrew Nichols said he was smoking crack with the person four weeks ago when that person went unconscious and died. His wife was out of town; when she returned eight days later, she helped wrap and hide the body, investigators said.
The neighbor who lives upstairs said he was acquainted with the couple, but never expected something like this.
