Thank you, Jesus!

It finally happen, many people’s hard work and social media movement have helped Cyntoia Brown be granted clemency.

Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam announced Monday he will grant the 30-year-old clemency and will get out August 7 for time served. She will be placed on probation for 10 years, be required to keep a job and participate in regular counseling sessions.

In a statement, Haslam said, “Cyntoia Brown committed, by her own admission, a horrific crime at the age of 16. Yet, imposing a life sentence on a juvenile that would require her to serve at least 51 years before even being eligible for parole consideration is too harsh, especially in light of the extraordinary steps Ms. Brown has taken to rebuild her life.”

Brown was sentenced to serve 51 years to life after being convicted murder back in 2006.
