WYCLEF FIGHTS BACK OVER CHARITY ACCUSATIONS!
Wyclef Jean is speaking out against reports that question the practices of the Wyclef Jean Foundation, also known as Yele Haiti, which is raising money for Haitian relief. An audit of the organization’s tax returns showed the charity intertwined with Jean’s businesses, but he denies any claims he personally profited from the charity. “It is impossible for me to even comprehend the recent attacks on my character and the integrity of my foundation,” he said in a statement. “The fact that these attacks come as we are mobilized to meet the greatest human tragedy in the history of Haiti only serves to perplex me even further.” Jean says Yele has already raised $2 million for Haitian relief, and that the group plans to send medical supplies, water and Clif Bars to Haiti using a FedEx plane early next week,
