DJ Brandon Banger(born Brandon Lipsey on July 16th, 1993) is one of the youngest and most aspiring CEO’s in Columbus. Growing up on the South Side of the Capital City, Lipsey made it a goal to find something productive to do rather than falling into the trap of the streets which many young men his age have fallen. Well into his sophomore year at Beechcroft High School, it seemed Lipsey was going down the route that his mother dearly hoped he would not go down. As his grades slipped and he was quite often in trouble, Lipsey decided to put his love for music to use. Looking for a way to put a smile on his mother’s face, Lipsey came up with the Entertainment Label, “F.R.E.E. ENT,” which stood for, “Fine, Response, Equals, Excelence.” Lipsey continued with this journey, giving the name to a local promoter, who then started pushing flyers for teen events. As Lipsey would later say, “Growing up, I always had a mindset to be a CEO and Entreprenuer,” this seemed like the destination for the young CEO, after Lipsey hosted a series of his own events. Changing the name to “Rise-N-Grind ENT” the success of his label took off, as Lipsey’s events were hitting capacity with 500+ teens attending each Saturday. This made him the youngest person in Columbus, Ohio to host his own events, but what he was doing wasn’t enough in Lipsey’s eyes. To accompany this, he looked for music to be his calling, and became a DJ and producer, creating beats and hosting mixtapes for local artists including Yung Luciano, Lamonte, Jizzle and a variety of others. Brandon Banger also hosted a mixtape for Atlanta’s Mykko Montana.

Although Columbus is not majorly well known around the nation as one of the big hip hop hotbeds, Lipsey has contributed greatly towards the movement to the top. Producing and hosting mixtapes for some of the top artists in the 614, the quality of hip hop in the city has increased tremendously in recent memory. At the ripe old age of 16, Brandon Banger is making headlines across Columbus and had this to say about his current success, “Even though I’m the youngest in my age range doing what I do, it’s still a long way to the top and I’m ready for the climb.”
