Today marks the two year anniversary of the death of Trayvon Martin. The high profile trial of his killer, George Zimmerman, has caused nation wide speculation of Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” law. In light of the following cases like that of Michael Dunn and Jordan Davis, Trayvon Martin is still fresh on people’s minds.

In the mid 50’s in Mississippi, a young boy named Emmitt Till was visiting from Chicago and was murdered at the age of 14 after reportedly whistling at a white woman. This event was one of the many movements which helped spark the civil rights movement in the South.
