Curren$y Hits NYC With Lupe Fiasco, Action Bronson, Stalley

Rock The Bells 2012 Festival Series In San Bernardino, California - Day 1Curren$y brought Jet Life to New York City on Thursday night (January 3) with a sold-out show at SOBs. It was a feel-good, stoner’s night. “Every motherf——g record is a smoke record,” Spitta said, laughing, at one point.

Spitta performed a full set–while actively inhaling– from his repertoire including his pastPilot Talk cuts and more recently, his studio release The Stoned Immaculate and the Harry Fraud-helmed EP, Cigarette Boats. “Why yall ain’t pass me no joints?” the rapper joked with his rapt audience when he got onstage, taking a puff or two for good measure.

The immaculate stoner was joined by several familiar rap friends including Maybach Music Group’s Stalley (“Address”), Styles P (“Lean”) and Action Bronson for “Bird on a Wire.” The latter kicked the mellow vibe up a few notches. Curren$y himself was markedly impressed with Bam Bam’s verse, which ended as an acapella, musing “Damn. That was like smoking in my car.”
