The car carrying Paul Walker topped a speed of 100 mph before crashing into a pole, killing both the actor and the driver of the vehicle.
The Los Angeles County Coroner released a new autopsy report Friday, Jan. 3, detailing how speed was the main cause of the crash of the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT that resulted in the deaths of Walker and his friend Roger Rodas, People magazine reported. The vehicle traveled more than 100 mph before Rodas lost control, hit a tree, hit a light post, spun around and hit another tree before the vehicle burst into flames on Nov. 30 in Santa Clarita, Calif.
“It appeared that the vehicle was almost split in half,” the report revealed, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Walker and Rodas’ bodies were in the “pugilistic” stance, the Times noted. Walker’s injuries were so bad that he could not be identified visually and was not a candidate for tissue donation. Rodas suffered a skull fracture and his brain was exposed, the report stated.
Earlier this month, Walker’s cause of death was listed as the combined effects of traumatic and thermal injuries. He did not die from the impact of the crash alone.
The 40-year-old actor has been remembered by fans and friends in the weeks following his tragic death. Most recently, Vin Diesel took to Facebook to reminisceabout the times he shared with his “Fast & Furious” co-star.
“There was always moments of child-like laughter,” he wrote in a post Thursday, Jan. 2, along with a photo of him and Walker. “We had accomplished so much by 2013… P.s. The complexities of Brotherhood, and the painful void… of it’s absence.” SOURCE
