You are probably thinking who in the hell is Azealia Banks? And you should if you are not up on your new music. Well, Azealia Banks is quickly making a name for herself in many ways. Let’s run them down.
- She’s got a hot new dance track that is killing the clubs in NY and LA
- She’s got Kanye Wests’ stamp of approval. At his DJ gig in Vegas over New Years Eve he played the song multiple times. Kanye says her sound is the future.
- Her bold lyrics have made her the new bad girl of hip hop/dance music
- She recently gave Kreayshawn the business on Twitter
- She went to the same High School as Nicki Minaj, you would think they would be cool, but she has a different view of hip hops Barbie.
In a recent interview Azealia spoke on Kreayshawn and Nicki
“As much as Kreayshawn would love to be considered part of this ‘rap game,’ she’s not,” she explained. “I guess a part of me is kind of annoyed that those white girls are making these songs, and it’s like if these girls were black and making the same songs would you be that interested?”
As for Minaj, Banks sees the fellow New Yorker, and LaGuardia High School alumni, as physically inauthentic. Taking aim at her fondness for wigs, and alleged prosthetic enhancements, Banks admitted to being bored with what Minaj has to offer.
“The butt, the hair, the this, the that, all the other shit, like… As much respect that I have for her, we’ve seen you do this already, what else can you do?”
