Strong storms rolling through Ohio has knocked out power for at least 32,000 customers in central and southwest parts of the state.

American Electric Power-Ohio says at least 30,000 customers are without power as of Thursday afternoon. The bulk is in central Franklin County, which has more than 14,000 outages.

Duke Energy says more than 4,000 customers are without power, and Dayton Power & Light says at least 2,000 customers have no power.

The storm temporarily shut down operations at the annual State Fair as visitors were asked to take nearby shelter. Spokeswoman Alicia Shoults says rides are becoming operational again, and all other scheduled events and concerts are moving ahead.

The storms come just weeks after other storms moving through the state left thousands in the dark.
