According to Pharrell, Miley Cyrus is really about that rap life and much more.

“She can tell you everything about Waka Flocka. She can tell you when Gucci Mane came out. She means it ’cause she grew up in that. She grew up listening to that with all her friends. She’s showing you the signs that she’s a different girl.” (Hot 97)

Recently, Bad Boy Records rapper French Montana gushed over his bond with Cyrus.

“That’s my dog. That’s my peoples. We became friends at theClive Davis Grammy party. I was sitting there with Puff. She was sitting there with Wiz [Khalifa]. She just kept looking at me laughing, I kept on looking at her laughing. I said, “What you laughing at?” She said, “I know you high like me.” After that, we became mad cool. I went over to the studio, just kicking it — Yeah. We working on something now. That’s just cool peoples.” (MTV Hive)

Last month, Atlanta’s Waka Flocka Flame revealed his crush on the 20 year-old actress.

“I’m not going to lie, I bummed a guest seat from Russell Simmons to go to her party. I got like a real slick crush on her. I went to the party, she didn’t even know it. I walked right by here, she didn’t even know it. As soon as she walked in the door I walked right f*cking by her, she didn’t even know. I didn’t say shit. I haven’t met her in real life. I will introduce myself. I want to get a record with her. I got a sick, sick, sick record. Let me see if I got it. I got something I’d like to write for her, give her a feel for it just to write. [Plays song] I already got my verse for it, I created the song, it’s called “Shots.” I got to pitch it, damn she might want to do it for her album! That’d be awesome. I’m going to do a record with her guaranteed. We’re gonna take steps.” (Pigeons & Planes)

Last fall, Pharrell and Miley locked in some studio time together along with Odd Future’s Tyler, the Creator.

“A lot of the beats are produced hip-hop beats,” she said, “but the vocal is very raw and my voice is kind of on top of all the tracks, which is what I wanted.” Cyrus said she is working with producer Pharrell Williams and “a lot of hip-hop producers that are actually from the South, because I wanted more of that dirty-South vibe, a little ATL in there.” While she loves performing on camera, music matters most to Cyrus. “I want people to remember me for things that are great,” she said. “Much bigger than the comedies that I do, but more about the music that I write and the songs that you leave for the world to think about.” (Billboard)
