COLUMBUS — Vendors worked into the muggy morning hours getting food ready for the Jazz & Rib Fest that kicks off later today. Crews put up tents in the searing sun yesterday.
Some started early to beat the heat.
One vendor says he changed his clothes twice after sweating so much putting up his food tent. “All these rib teams are pros they do this all summer long so they’re used to the heat just know how to pace themselves and stay safe,” said Jazz & Rib Fest coordinator Bill Behnke.
Cooling stations were set up for workers and will be in place throughout the weekend for spectators enjoying the festivities.
It’s recommended to wear sunscreen, drink plenty of water and maybe bring a hat or umbrella for shade. SOURCE
