Rihanna at only the age of 28 has accomplished more than most of her pop peers in the music industry. In total, the pop star has sold over 150 million records worldwide (albums and singles) with 13 No. 1 singles on the Hot 100. With 8 Grammy Awards and 23 Billboard Music Awards plus the first ever Icon Award from the American Music Awards of 2013, she’s now got one more accomplishment to add to her ever impressive resume. Rihanna is the first and only artist to surpass 100 million song certifications by the RIAA in the US.

Rihanna is not the type of artist that sells albums but is more of a singles artist. While she has released many albums through the years, even some each year, it’s her hit radio singles that soar. It’s been 10 years since Rihanna’s debut and since then, her singles have become a force to be reckoned with having released 37 songs in her career so far.

Of those 37 songs, she’s scored massive hits with songs like “FourFiveSeconds” with Paul McCartney and Kanye West which is certified 2x Platinum along with the 6x Platinum hits “What’s My Name,” the club ready “Only Girl (In the World)” and tender ballad “Stay.” Her most successful song in the States and worldwide is another club ready anthem “We Found Love” with a 9x Platinum certification, 1 million away from being a Diamond record.

To put it in comparison, Rihanna has only sold 7.5 million albums in the United States. Only 2007’s Good Girl Gone Badhas been certified 2x Platinum while five of her albums have been certified Platinum including Loud, Talk That Talk and 2012’s Unapologetic.
