A Columbus Police Officer was rushed to Grant Medical Center after taking a bite out of a sandwich that contained glass on Monday afternoon. According to reports the officer took a bite out of a sandwich and heard a crunch sound that he got from a restaurant in the King-Lincoln District on Long Street. The officer looked down into the sandwich and saw glass, when he checked his mouth it was bleeding.
The officer was then rushed to the hospital where he was kept overnight for observation. The restaurant was immediately shut down for a full investigation including Columbus Public Heath officials.
Tuesday afternoon Columbus Police tweeted out a statement:
The officer’s name has not been released and was released from the hospital Tuesday afternoon.
