Rick Ross has canceled two shows in North Carolina, days after a gang named the Gangster Disciples released a video warning the Maybach Music head about his presence in the state.

Meek Mill, Wale and Machine Gun Kelly were also set to perform at the Greensboro and Charlotte shows, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, respectively. A Sunday night show in Nashville, Tenn., remains on schedule; no reason for the cancellations was given in a Live Nation release.

Local news outlet WCNC reported that Ross received death threats earlier this week from the Gangster Disciples street gang, whose North Carolina faction released a YouTube video threatening to appear at the concerts. A music video follows, with members including the lyrics, “We Maybach killer.”

Several such videos have been uploaded in recent weeks, with masked Gangster Disciple members claiming a Florida affiliation asking for a “check cut” in a separate video. The beef was apparently set off by the rapper’s mention of the gang’s imprisoned leader, Larry Hoover, in his track “B.M.F. (Blowin’ Money Fast)” The gang also uses a six-pointed star akin to the Star of David, an emblem that appears on the cover of Ross’ “Black Bar Mitzvah” mixtape. READ MORE
