OPRAH LEAVING BROADCAST TV?
Is Oprah Winfrey ready to kiss broadcast TV good-bye? Deadline Hollywood reports that Oprah has decided to give up her syndicated daytime show and move the talker to her long-delayed Oprah Winfrey Network, that will launch in place of the Discovery Health Channel. CBS, which syndicates the Oprah show, says that the host has yet to make a decision about renewing her contract, but insiders claim the head of Discovery Communications has demanded she “movie it or lose it,” meaning if she doesn’t move the program there, she’ll lose the network completely.
