It has been a few weeks since “Real Housewives of Atlanta” co-star, Apollo Nida (pictured) received his sentence of eight years in a federal prison for cashing stolen checks and laundering over $2.3 million via fake bank accounts. Now the hulky hubby of RHOA’s Phaedra Parks has been ordered to turn himself into the FMC Lexington prison in Lexington, Kentucky on September 10 at noon, according to Radar Online.
Nida reportedly got off easy with an 8-year sentence. The dad of two young boys, who was arrested in January before pleading guilty to the charges in May, was supposed to spend 30 years behind bars but because he cooperated with federal investigators Georgia judge granted him leniency.
This most recent bad brush with the law is not Nida’s first criminal offense. The 35-year-old reality star also spent some time in prison 2004 to 2009 for auto title fraud.
In addition to a prison sentence, Nida was ordered by a judge to pony up restitution to the following victims of his offenses:
- $828,300 to JP Morgan Chase
- $127,011 to the IRS
- $24,985 to Delta Airlines
- $15,778 to the State of California
- $45,525 to the State of Connecticut
- $39,275 to the State of Texas
Nida, who appears to be remorseful for his illegal doings told Radar Online that he thought his criminal past could serve as an example for young men, “Don’t do as I do, but take my experiences and hope that it will give you a better platform.”
