Dear Netflix – Bring Back Our Shows!
When it comes the selections of your streaming tv shows, I do not see much diversity on your network. I’ll tell you what I do see.
I see Friends, Saved by the Bell, Frasier, and even Alley McBeal (which I thought the world was done with).
What I don’t see is Martin, Living Single, Fresh Prince or Family Matters.
There is a missing genre when it comes to Netflix’s streaming service. It’s the black sitcom, particularly from the 90’s era.
It was a time period where black sitcoms flourished in abundance (especially compared to now). These shows are all but myths now, as any traces of them have seemingly disappeared.
Sister Sister and The Steve Harvey Show. Moesha and The Jamie Foxx Show. The Smart Guy, In the House, Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper. I could go on and on, I really could, but you get the point.
The purpose of this petition is to prove to Netflix that an interest in these shows and this genre does exist. Our goal is to reach 100,000 electronic signatures by May 31st, 2016.
We are asking in return that you make more of an effort on your part to secure rights to these shows for the fans who stream your service.
To the people reading this now, don’t let our favorite shows die out. It’s not to late to save them!
