Da Brat talked about how much fun it was to link up with old friends and celebrate hip-hop as a community. The evening was full of long-awaited honors, like Havoc‘s tribute to the late Prodigy, featuring Lil Kim and Fabolous.

Martin Lawrence also accepted an award for his classic 90s sit-com, “Martin,” and its contributions to hip-hop, while Jermaine Dupree looked back at when he first started out in Atlanta, and worked to put the city and its vibrant culture on the map.
