The Smart Columbus Experience Center plans to have open “hands-on experiences” for the public to work with electric cars. The Center hopes that the experience will “ease any concerns (the public) may have about the technology.” According to their website, the goal is “to improve people’s quality of life, drive growth in the economy, provide better access to jobs, and foster sustainability.”
Electric vehicles currently only make up 1% of all cars driven in the United States. However, the costs for batteries and charging is dropping substantially, paving the way for a future in which we don’t have to destroy the Earth in favor of convenient transportation. The Center is set to open this June.
