Today is National Doughnut Day. In observance, Krispy Kreme and Dunkin’ Donuts will be giving away free doughnut to customers. There are a combined seven Dunkin’ Donuts and Krispy Kreme stores in the Columbus area. National Doughnut Day is celebrated the first Friday of every June and was created by the Salvation Army in 1938 to honor the women who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War One.
