Hip-Hop’s Top Earners
Forbes has released its list of the Top 20 earners in Hip-Hop and, not surprisingly, the Ultimate King of the “Hip-Hop Cash Kings” is Jay-Z. He pulled in $63 million over the past 12 months to top the list for the second-straight year. With that amount of money brought in, Jay will owe about $22 million in taxes which, according to Forbes, is in itself “a sum greater than the total earnings of any other rap star besides second-ranked Diddy,” who brought in about that much. Akon comes in third with $21 million, while Lil’ Wayne comes in fourth after bringing in $20 million despite being behind bars for part of the year. Dr. Dre rounds out the Top 5 with $17 million.
