We all know that the Coronavirus COVID-19 is having an impact on the global scale but have you thought about how is this affecting our local neighborhoods in Central Ohio?
That’s why we came put together the Columbus and the Coronavirus: An Urban One Form with Urban One’s Yaves Ellis, City Newwss and Divine Martio along with Stephanie Hightower President and Ceo of the Columbus Urban League. We discussed a wide array of topics related to COVID-19 including health, resources and more.
In the first segment Dr. Mysheika Roberts, Columbus Public Health joins our host to talk about how to stay safe, what to do if you think you have the virus, including if you have no primary care physician.

In part two our host are joined by Franklin County Commissioner Kevin Boyce and Joy Bivens, Director of the Franklin County Department of Job and Family Services. Topics covered are what the county is seeking to do overall, including housing, small business grants, etc. and how people can continue receiving assistance or apply for it if realizing they need help now. We also got a special message from Congresswoman Joyce Beatty on federal relief efforts and Columbus City Council President Shannon Hardin talks about relief from utility shut-offs and more.

In our final segment our host tall about what the courts are doing to help, delaying evictions and foreclosures, taking extra precautions to protect the 50 young people in juvenile facilities, releasing non-violent offenders from prison on their own bond, allowing people with outstanding warrants to schedule a new hearing date and disregarding whether they’re timely in doing so, and so much more.
