February 1, 2010 approximately 100 artists made their way to Henson Recording Studios in L.A. to take part in the 2010 remake of the 1985 Classic “We are the World”.
Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie, producers of the original song (along with the late great Michael Jackson) are orchestrating this years project also.
The original version including big names such as Ray Charles, Cyndi Lauper, Tina Turner raised over $30 Million Dollars for USA for Africa, a relief fund which focused on the hunger problem in Africa.
All Proceeds from this years project will go towards relief efforts in Haiti after the 2 earthquakes that struck the island nation last month.
Artists already scheduled to appear include Wyclef Jean, Trey Songz, Bono from U2, Snoop Dogg, Akon, Usher, Lady Gaga and Eminem.
